2023 Honda Odyssey

For the 2023 model year, the Honda Odyssey minivan receives a new base trim and a new Sport variant in the middle of the lineup. These are the most notable updates since the 2017 model year, but Honda didn't need to modify much about the Odyssey because it excels in every task thrown at it.

The Odyssey shines in a wide variety of categories. It's roomy, solid, well-designed, thoughtful, elegant, and dependable.

Five trim levels are available for the 2023 Odyssey:

  • EX
  • EX-L
  • Touring
  • Elite
  • Sport (new)

The new Sport package is $800 less expensive than the EX-L and has the same styling cues and equipment levels.

Interior Review of the 2023 Honda Odyssey

The 2023 Odyssey comes standard with eight seats, and there’s plenty of room in each of the three available rows. The flexibility to carry people and cargo in various arrangements (as the back row is collapsible) should appeal to many drivers.

The interior materials are on par with the rest of Honda's offerings, providing a comfortable ride and high quality. There’s a concave mirror just above the standard rearview mirror, so the driver may quickly check on those sitting in the back.

The front and outermost second-row seats in the Sport trim come in black leather upholstery with red stitching. This color scheme continues into the steering wheel. The top of the car is black as well.

Two features will prove beneficial for larger families. Honda’s CabinWatch is a rear-seat monitor system that’s standard on the top two trims, and CabinTalk transmits the driver's speech to the back-seat audio system's headphones or rear speakers.

The 2023 Odyssey comes standard with power sliding doors to ease the burden on busy parents. As a bonus, the mid-range trim levels now include a motorized trunk lid.

The new Sport trim is smack dab in the heart of the lineup. The grille, B pillars, rear pillars, lamp surrounds, taillight, and side mirror housings are all glossy black. The wheels have a similar black paint job. Also, 19-inch alloy wheels come as standard equipment for the Sport trim for the first time on any trim level.

Power and Performance of the 2023 Honda Odyssey

In the Odyssey, you can expect a minivan that meets your needs, including adequate power for passing on the highway, good fuel economy, a smooth ride, and a low learning curve.

A 3.5-liter V6 engine powers every 2023 Odyssey minivan. In terms of output, the 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque are more than adequate. An efficient, silent 10-speed automatic transmits power to the front wheels.

Finally, the 2023 Odyssey can pull up to 3,500 pounds in terms of towing power.
